This article provides links to documentation regarding Veeam Backup & Replication Repositories using Rotated Media.
Details about the functionality and configuration of repositories supporting rotated media can be found in the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide: Limitations of Repositories with Rotated Drives Rotated Drives with Windows Repositories Rotated Drives with Linux and Shared Folder Repositories How to add Repository with Rotated Media
Veeam Backup & Replication 12 Improvement Starting with Veeam Backup & Replication 12, the registry value discussed below does not need to be created as the functionality discussed is now built directly into the rotated media repository configuration. The ability to force deletion of backup files when expected files are not found was moved to be a per-repository setting in Veeam Backup & Replication 12, allowing for more granular activation of this feature. Prior to Veeam Backup & Replication 12, the registry value below was used to achieve the same end result but was not repository-specific and would cause all repositories to react to missing files by deleting other backup files.
