Symptom
There may be an inconsistency between the FEX front-panel port (HIF) running configuration and the VPC consistency-parameters after upgrading a N9K switch in a dual-homed (Active-Active, AA) FEX setup.
The FEX HIF is configured with the command "spanning-tree port type edge" but VPC reports the interface as "default".
Conditions
Issue is seen when N9K switch is (disruptively) upgraded to 7.0(3)I7(x)
Workaround
a). Remove and re-apply the command "spanning-tree port type edge" from the FEX HIF on the affected parent
b). Remove the command "spanning-tree port type edge" from the FEX HIF completely (all FEX HIFs are STP Edge ports by default, so technically this configuration is redundant).
Further Problem Description
In some cases it may affect only one parent switch, which will cause the Type-1 vPC interface-level inconsistency, causing the affected HIFs to stay down.
