Symptom
N9K VPC Pairs encountered Kernel panic on primary VPC device resulted in unexpected reload due to known defect CSCvz65993 listed on fn72433, During same timeframe VPC member port-channels on secondary VPC device also gone down causing critical failure to VPC domain.
Conditions
[+] Primary 9K VPC device reloaded unexpectedly due to Kernel Panic (CSCvz65993) (fn72433)
[+] VPC member port-channels on N9k secondary VPC device gone down at same time.
[+] Critical STP failures on N9K secondary VPC.
[+] Peer-link down hence VPC member port-channels from primary and secondary N9K VPC devices down on
almost same time.
[+] N9K secondary VPC device interfaces expected to be up after primary reboot.
[+] Peer-keep alive should be up and running.
Workaround
[+] No workarouds as VPC device encountering CSCvz65993 is expected with similar behaviour.
[+] Upgrading to CSCvz65993 fixed versions.
Further Problem Description
This issue affects all available NXOS PIDs and is not limited to cloudscale n9000s
