Symptom
Constantly getting the following alarms referring to a communication error with the smart licensing portal:
[+]smart licensing id certificate renewal failure: details=invalid response from licensing cloud
[+]smart licensing authorization expired: details=Authorized period expired/smart licensing authorization expired
Conditions
This issue is usually seen after applying patch 5 over ise 3.1 on top of previous patches and being already registered into smart licensing
Workaround
-perform an Update operation from the licensing page
-then do a deregister and Register Smart Licensing to update the new URL.
Further Problem Description
From 3.1P5 onwards, we have moved to smart transport. As a part of this, backend server url has been changed from tools.cisco.com to smartreceiver.cisco.com. However, when we already had SL registered using Direct Https and they installed P5, the url did not get updated.
