While there is a specific note in the new Release Notes document specifying that "auto-upgrade" for TimingIC-A and TimingIC-B FPDs will not work, this does not "only" apply to the Timing FPDs. Customers see the same concerning the Sunstreaker and TAMFW-Sunstreaker FPDs. When upgrading the software version, and using "fpd auto-upgrade"
No workaround is needed. If the customer follows the instructions on the output (RLOAD REQ), and correctly reloads both the Admin and XR VMs on the hardware, the device operates as expected and the FPDs will show as "CURRENT". The documentation just needs to be more direct and broad in specifying this concerning FPDs.
In order to prevent unnecessary confusion from the customer, being that there are multiple FPDs which will still require a manual reload to be fully installed, we should make the statements in the Release notes more broad. Adding this to the software installation/configuration guides would also be helpful.
