Details
Instant clone creation fails with the error "Fault type is UNKNOWN_FAULT_FATAL - Either the resource pool: <resource group name> is empty or all its hosts are marked for maintenance." This is because the hosts are in or are marked for maintenance mode.
Solution
If hosts are in maintenance, bring the hosts out of maintenance.Ensure that InstantClone.Maintenance is not set to 1 or 2 for any of the hosts. If it is, from vSphere Client, go to the host's Summary tab, edit Annotations, and clear the value for InstantClone.Maintenance.
For VMC Customers running Horizon:To make these host-level attribute changes, ensure you are logged in with the cloudadmin account, which comes provisioned by default with the deployed SDDC.Example Host-Level Configuration that will result in the Error:Example Host-level Configuration that will not be impacted:Note : if the value will not update, you can completely remove the Custom Attribute and then add it back with null value.
