What is the effect of changing the hostname or IP address of the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 EMS SAM server on the Smarts Alcatel 5620 SAM Adapter (ASAM Adapter)?
Resolution
There will not be any impact of HostName change on ASAM Adapter ( 3.2.0.8) up to Alcatel-Lucent 5620 EMS SAM server R13.If assigning a new IP address, the emsConfig.import file of the ASAM Adapter needs to be updated using sm_edit after which the ASAM Adapter needs to be restarted.Example: We need to modify in emsConfig.import file in below section. EmsInstance = { { "192.168.1.108", "8080", "admin", "21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3" } } Note: # EMS instance description block(s), add one block per EMS instance # Each block contain the following parameters, where the order of # the parameters is important: # - EMS IP (where to find it -- must be an IP) # - EMS port (which HTTP port to use) # - EMS account (EMS Login account) # - EMS password (EMS Login password)
