Cause
On iOS devices, when end users browse to Settings > Device Management > Workspace Services > More Details > Signing Certificates the *.awmdm.com Signing Certificate is expired. Is this a problem and will it affect devices?
Resolution
The Signing Certificate is used when profiles are issued to devices to verify that the profile is coming from a trusted source. This certificate is from a trusted third party and helps prevent man in the middle attacks.
The certificate is renewed periodically by AirWatch, so if a device was enrolled and received a profile that was using a different signing certificate (one that has since been replaced) it may show up as expired in the Mobile Device Management Section of the device settings.
Because the profile is encrypted at the time of enrollment, even if the signing certificate expires, the profiles on those devices will continue to be encrypted. This expired status will not affect the management of the device.
While this will not prevent correct Mobile Device Management of the device, if you want to install the latest Signing Certificate you can do so by re-enrolling the device.
