Symptoms
When looking at the Details View for an Android device, the message "Launcher is not set as the home app or is not installed" is displayed on the Summary tab.
Cause
This message indicates the Workspace ONE Launcher is either not installed or is not currently set as the default launcher on the device. There could be several reasons for this:
The application is not yet installed on the device, or has been uninstalled either by the end user or via the Workspace ONE UEM consoleThe end user has exited the application on the device, or an Exit AirWatch Launcher command has been issued via the Workspace ONE UEM consoleThe application is installed and active on the device, but the application sample for the device has not been processed by the Workspace ONE UEM console
Impact / Risks
If you are not using the Workspace ONE Launcher application, then this message can be ignored. It will be displayed for all Android devices, even if there is no Launcher profile assigned.If you are using the Workspace ONE Launcher application, then this message may indicate the device is not currently using the application.
Resolution
Navigate to Devices > Details View > Apps for an affected device and verify the installation status of the Workspace ONE Launcher application. If the application does not show an Installed status, then issue a Query command to the device to receive the latest sample.If the Workspace ONE UEM Console indicates the application is installed and the application sample is recent, then the application may not be the default launcher on the device. You will need to troubleshoot the device itself to understand if the user is not currently using the Workspace ONE Launcher.
