Image publishing fails with sysprep Errors or times out.Provisioned desktop stuck with sysprep error on console screen.
In these cases, windows Sysprep process is failed with critical error, and you need to resolve related error, publish the image again.In some cases, you might need to rebuild the image. Please refer below steps and Microsoft Knowledge Base articles and forums to troubleshoot the problem.
Step1 : Check the Sysrep logs for errors Sysprep logs location (Image publishing) Directory: %WINDIR%\System32\Sysprep\Panther\ Filenames: setupact.log, setuperr.log Sysprep logs location (After clone failures) Directory: %WINDIR%\\Panther\ Directory: %WINDIR%\\Panther\UnattendGC Filenames: setupact.log, setuperr.log Windows Event Logs (Application and System event logs) : How To Diagnose System Problems with Event Viewer in Microsoft Windows 2000. Step 2: The probable cause of failure will be in one of the log files (setuperr.log) as mentioned above. Please find the details of errors and check for it on Microsoft Knowledge base and forums.If there are no error is Sysprep logs, please check event logs for any error or warning related to Sysprep process (Sysprep.exe). It is possible some AD policies or antivirus tools are blocking execution.
