If you are currently on Horizon 7.x, before proceeding with this KB, be sure to check the end of support dates for your specific version VMware Lifecycle Product Matrix as various 7.x version have its own End of General Support and End of Technical Guidance dates. Note, The official matrix always over-rides the information within this KB.Customers must have a valid support agreement (SnS , Term, or SaaS support) with VMware for General Support or Technical Guidance Support. This article provides support details for Horizon 7 version 7.13, App Volumes 4 version 2009 , Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) 2009 and Horizon Client 5.5. Important: We recommend you migrate from Horizon 7 to Horizon 8 as soon as possible. Horizon 8 offers numerous improvements in performance, scale, and experience for both Administrators and end users. Please see Ensuring a successful migration from Horizon 7 to Horizon 8 (89840) for additional advice.
Horizon 7.13 is our last minor release on the Horizon 7.x line. There are 3 maintenance updates for 7.13: 7.13.1, 7.13.2, and 7.13.3. Horizon 7.13.x has reached their End of General Support (Apr 30, 2023) and has entered into its Technical Guidance Support phase (ends Apr 30, 2025). In addition, Horizon Client 5.5 (Windows, macOS, Linux), App Volumes 4 version 2009 and DEM 2009 in use with Horizon 7.13.x, also follow a similar support timeline. For details on the support level in Technical Guidance Support, see the Technical Guidance Phase of our Lifecycle Policies Support Statement.VMware strongly recommends that customers who want to continue running Horizon 7.x for an extended period of time after End Of General Support (EOGS) to upgrade to version 7.13.3 (including Horizon Server and Agent components) in order to stay up to date with critical bug fixes. If you are planning on migrating to Horizon 8.x shortly after Horizon 7.x EOGS, you can skip 7.13.3 and upgrade directly to Horizon 8.x. If you want to stay on Horizon 7.13.x and want a higher level of support than what is provided by Technical Guidance Support, you can purchase an extended support contract SKU from VMware. For details on purchasing extended support please refer to this datasheet on VMware Extended Support (PDF) Note: An App Volumes 4 manager server is capable of managing both App Volumes 4 agents and App Volumes 2.18 agents. Customers can take advantage of this extended support while continuing to use App Volumes 2.18 agents by upgrading their App Volumes Manager servers to App Volumes 4 version 2009.
