On an HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server or HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, when switching between Legacy BIOS to the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), the NVDIMM will display a message to format the hard drive.
The message occurs under the following sequence of events:
Boot the server to Legacy BIOS mode with the related Hard drive
Copy the files to NVDIMM
Shut down the computer
remove the Hard drive
Re-insert the Hard drive
Boot to UEFI BIOS
A message will be displayed to format the Hard drive
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server or HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.
Resolution
The message is false. The HDD should not be re-formatted.
If the message appears, cancel the message and access files from NVDIMM.
