HPE recommends the following drive firmware versions for all hard disk drive (HDD) models beginning with "SLTN" for increased drive reliability: 3P02 or later for all non-encrypted SLTN HDDs 3P01 or later for all encrypted SLTN HDDs For non-encypted SLTN HDDs, the following CLI command may be used to identify if the system has non-encrypted SLTN drives, as well as the corresponding drive firmware version: cli% showpd -i -p -devid SLTN0450S5xnN010,SLTN0600S5xnN010,SLTN0900S5xnN010 If non-encrypted SLTN drive models are installed in the system and not running firmware 3P02 or later, refer to Table 1 to plan the appropriate HPE 3PAR OS update (which may include HPE 3PAR OS updates and/or patch installations) to install 3P02 drive firmware. For encypted SLTN HDDs, the following CLI command may be used to identify if the system has encrypted SLTN drives, as well as the corresponding drive firmware version: cli% showpd -i -p -devid SLTN0450S5xnE010,SLTN0450S5xnF010,SLTN0900S5xnE010,SLTN0900S5xnF010 If encrypted SLTN drive models are installed in the system and not running firmware 3P01 or later, refer to Table 1 to plan the appropriate HPE 3PAR OS update (which may include HPE 3PAR OS updates and/or patch installations) to install 3P01 drive firmware. HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7000, 8000 and 9000 systems support the option of customers performing OS updates, along with Service Processor (SP) updates, with the exception of SP 4.x to 5.x updates. We urge customers to refer to the relevant update and release note documentation and to carefully review the dependencies of various host environments provided in the information library.
