HPE ProLiant Gen9 servers configured with a Smart Array controller running a firmware version prior to 5.52 and using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) may report "service hours" as "0" in the System Management Homepage (SMH) as seen below: When this issue occurs, an Advance Diagnostic Utility (ADU) report also presents "Reference Time" as "0x00000000" and "empty" in the following fields Smart Array P440ar in Embedded Slot : Internal Drive Cage at Port 1I : Box 1 : Physical Drive (300 GB SAS HDD) 1I:1:1 : Monitor and Performance Statistics (Since Factory) Serial Number empty Firmware Revision empty Product Revision empty Reference Time 0x00000000 Smart Array P440ar in Embedded Slot : Internal Drive Cage at Port 1I : Box 1 : Physical Drive (300 GB SAS HDD) 1I:1:1 : Monitor and Performance Statistics (Since Reset) Serial Number W0K0T3JQ Firmware Revision HPD3 Product Revision HP EG000300JWEBF Reference Time 0x00000000 This issue may persist if drives are replaced or reconfigured as array/logical drives.
Any HPE ProLiant Gen9 system with a Smart Array controller installed, running Smart Array firmware prior to 5.52 and using SNMP.
To resolve this issue, update the Smart Array controller firmware to version 5.52 (or later). Once the firmware is updated, the values will be displayed correctly. Follow the steps below to obtain the latest release of Smart Array firmware: 1. Click the following link: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home 2. Enter a product name (e.g., "Smart Array P440 Controller") in the text search field and wait for a list of products to populate. From the products displayed, identify the desired product and click on the Drivers & software icon to the right of the product. 3. From the Drivers & software dropdown menus on the left side of the page: a. Select the Software Type - (Firmware) b. Select the Software Sub Type - (Storage Controller) 4. Select the latest release of RECOMMENDED * Supplemental Update / Online ROM Flash Component for Smart Array 5.52 (or later ). Note: To ensure the latest version will be downloaded, click on the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware is available. 5. Click Download. RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES : Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
