On an HPE Synergy environment with HPE Synergy Frame Link Module (FLM) firmware 2.02.01 (or earlier), the following error may be seen after a Frame Link Module failover occurs: HPE OneView is unable to communicate with the enclosure's frame link modules. Failed to validate certificate signature from the Frame Link Module <enclosure>. Resolution: Retry the operation. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative and provide them with a support dump. (EMT105) Alternately, if the enclosure is being intentionally removed from management, delete the logical enclosure {logical enclosure} and then remove the enclosure. The error below may also be seen after a Frame Link Module failover: Utilization data has not been successfully collected for xx minutes and xx attempts. Failed to validate certificate signature from the Frame Link Module <enclosure>. Resolution: Retry the operation. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative and provide them with a support dump. (EMT105)
Any HPE OneView for Synergy managing an enclosure with HPE Synergy Frame Link Module firmware 2.02.01 (or earlier).
This issue has been fixed in HPE Synergy Frame Link Module firmware 2.02.02 (or later). Visit the following URL to obtain the latest release of HPE Synergy Frame Link Module firmware: HPE Synergy Software Releases . If this issue is encountered prior to implementing the firmware fix, the following two recovery options are available: Option 1 - Recover by updating the FLM certificate in HPE OneView Procedure to update the FLM certificate in HPE OneView: Note the name (alias) of the enclosure that needs to be updated. On the menu bar, Click OneView -> Settings. Scroll down to the Security section, then click Manage Certificates. From the list of certificates, click on the specific enclosure name to view the certificate. Click on the arrow to show certificate details. Save the enclosure cluster IP address from the "Subject alternative names" field. This information will be required in later steps of this process. Save the enclosure name (alias) from the title bar. This is the same name that appeared in the certificate list. This information will be required in later steps in this process. Click "Close" to return to the list of certificates. To the right of the enclosure name, click the "X" icon to delete the certificate. Click "Yes, remove certificate." Click on "Add certificates." Click on radio button, "Add Certificate from IP address or hostname" Paste in the enclosure cluster IPv6 address into the text box that was obtained in step 6 above. Click on "Validate Certificate." Paste the Alias name into the box. Note: The alias MUST be the same name that was previously listed in the certificate list. View the certificate details and optionally compare the certificate information with the Synergy Console. Click Add. The enclosure now appears in the list of certificates. Communication from HPE OneView to the FLM(s) should now be restored. Option 2 - Recover by performing a factory reset of the FLM(s) Important : Note that resetting the FLM(s) to factory default settings is a disruptive operation. The FLM may be reset to factory defaults by one of the following means: Pressing the front panel reset button until the UID flashes (at least 10 seconds). OR Selecting the Factory Reset diagnostic option from the Synergy Console as described below: Connect to the HPE Synergy Console. Select Actions > FLM Diagnostics > Factory Reset.
