Upgrading the Smart Array controller firmware requires updating to the minimum version
followed by a reboot to update to the latest firmware version.
During an Offline automatic update using Service Pack for ProLiant
(SPP), when the installed firmware version of a Smart Array controller is less than the
minimum active version, the firmware is updated to the minimum version instead of the
latest firmware version.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant and HPE Synergy Gen10/Gen10 Plus server models running Smart Update
Manager (SUM) version 10.2.0 or earlier.

Resolution
Complete either of the options below to resolve this issue:
Re-run SUM in offline automatic mode to upgrade the Smart Array Controller
firmware version to the latest firmware version.
Or
Install the latest Smart Array Controller firmware version using iLO GUI.
Upload and install the firmware component in iLO as seen in the
screenshot below.
