Original Document Release.
After adding an HPE Gen11 server with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6), but without an Advanced License to HPE OneView, the server may enter an "Unmanaged Communication Error" state and the following error message may be displayed:
"
Issue Unable to configure the server. (SHAC_047)
Resolution Refresh the server.
"
When the server is in this unmanaged state, a server profile cannot be applied. This issue will occur under the following conditions:
OneView 8.40
or earlier
iLO 6 does not have an advanced license already installed before attempting a server Add to OneView
OneView has Syslog Configuration enabled
OneView 8.50
The iLO 6 does not have an advanced license already installed before attempting the add to OneView
Scope
HPE OneView 8.50 or earlier managing HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers.
Resolution
This issue is resolved by updating to
HPE OneView 8.60
or later.
Select and perform the actions in one of the following workarounds:
OneView 8.50
- Add an iLO Advanced
License before attempting to add the server to OneView. If an
Advanced License is not purchased, obtain an iLO trial license from
the
HPE
iLO Advanced Trial License
page until a fix is available
in OneView.
Note
: If the "
Error installing license: Evaluation license keys not
accepted
" message is seen when trying to add the trial
license, factory default the iLO before adding the trial license.
OneView 8.40
or earlier - Disable the Syslog
Configuration in OneView. This will allow the Gen11 server to be added
without an iLO Advanced License.
Note
: The Syslog settings
can be modified using the
OneView
