HPE OneView may display the alert message: " The following firmware components are inconsistent with the specified firmware baseline: Power Management Controller Firmware " This alert message occurs after Service Pack for ProLiant Pack (SPP) 2023.09.0 is used to deploy firmware updates on HPE Intel-based processors and servers via OneView. The alert is due to a versioning conflict with OneView and the power management controller firmware components. OneView validates the Power Management Controller firmware incorrectly against the AMD Power Management Controller firmware.

Resolution

If this alert appears, it can be ignored because the message is related to compliance reporting only and will have no functional impact. Users can just clear the alert. To prevent the alert from appearing in HPE OneView, choose one of the following two options below: Upgrade to HPE OneView 8.70 - The alert appearance issue has been successfully resolved in OneView version 8.70. After the upgrade, it is recommended to remove the SPP 2023.09.00.00, re-add it and refresh the server profile. The removal and re-add is only required for 2023.09.00.00 to guarantee accurate compliance reporting on this SPP. OR OneView 8.60 or Earlier - Create a custom SPP bundle to prevent the appearance of the compliance alert on the existing OneView appliance(s). Perform the following steps to build a Custom SPP: Unpack SPP 2023.09.0 to a folder on a server running Windows Operating System. Execute "launch_sum.bat" file. Select "Baseline Library" option. Click the "Actions" tab then "Create Custom." Fill in the appropriate required information and make the Custom ISO as "Bootable."
