Scope

Any HPE ProLiant DL110 Gen11 server configured with 4th Generation Intel Xeon Gold Scalable Processors.

Resolution

Install System ROM version 1.48 which will automatically set the Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State to "No Package State" to avoid this issue. After installing the System ROM, the Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State may not be set to "No Package State" or allowed to be selected, and it will be necessary a reboot of the system for the "No Package State" to be successfully applied. This may occur under the following scenarios: Select a Workload Profile like "General Peak Frequency Compute", "General Throughput Compute" and "Virtualization – Power Efficient", where the default setting of "Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State" is "Package C6 (retention) State." Save the setting and reboot the system for the "Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State" to be set to 'No Package State'. Select a Workload Profile like "Mission Critical", "Decision Support", "Graphic Processing", "I/O Throughput" and "Custom," where the default setting of "Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State" is "No Package State." The option "Package C6 (retention) State" or "Package C6 (non-retention) State" is allowed to be selected. After selecting "Package C6 (retention) State" or "Package C6 (non-retention) State," save the setting and reboot the system, the "Minimum Processor Idle Power Package C-State" will be set to "No Package State."
