When Micro Focus Glance 12.20.012 is executed as non-root user, the following warning and errors are displayed: WARNING: Unable to open ".glancerc_hp", "adviser.out", and "glance.err". Either your $HOME environment is not defined or there is no write access to your $HOME directory. Hence GlancePlus will save customize configuration, adviser output and the error log data to /var/opt/perf directory. Any HPE Integrity server running HP-UX 11.31, Micro Focus Glance 12.20.012 (or later), and TC097P Operations Agent 12.20.012 (or later).
Changes to Micro Focus Operations Agent 12.20 were implemented to fix local privileges vulnerability CVE-2020-11861. More information about the change and fix for Glance versions 12.06, 12.10, 12.11 is available at: https://support.microfocus.com/kb/kmdoc.php?id=KM03709900 In summary, the warning and errors are a result of running Glance as non-privileged user after CVE-2020-11861 fix.
